Smiling face with hope and all kinds of support,
You came to me and stood beside me as destroyer escort,
That was the first time when I knew You and got to consort,
That was the beginning of our amity which would never thwart.
Watching cricket matches with hot tea and “pakodas” at your home,
For keeping our precious belongings it was no less than a dome,
Waiting for invitation on Diwali and Holi as if it was our drome,
All of your courtesy had been mentioned in tome.
Our discussions were always filled with humour and fun,
and you never missed pulling my legs on your turn,
our commerce classes without your presence were undone,
Your constant support and advice helped me to learn.
I loved your sense of humour and the suspicious laugh,
I could understand you waited eagerly to chaff,
and your traps for funny moments were no less than a gaff,
And I felt pride to take credit on your behalf.
Our last meeting was again full of jokes on each other,
You arranged my visit and stay at Oak Grove assuring me not to bother,
My visit was absolute and you made me vow for another,
You were not just a close friend but a brother.
Memories we had together will be cherished forever,
Your personality will be a subject for inspiration and endeavour,
On my next trip to OG I will look for you no matter you are wherever,
And I strongly believe you are around me and will not dissever.
